Cleaning Instructions

Argentinian Stainless Steel grills like the Gaucho BBQ Grill require a little bit of attention to keep looking good. Here are some basic tips to make sure that your grill stays looking good.

  1. Soak the grill in Vinegar. Vinegar is an acid which will dissolve most of the meat and fat residues on the grill without harming the stainless steel. You can buy very inexpensive cleaning grade vinegar at Bunnings. Try using the recommended ratio before you go crazy and soak the grill in pure vinegar.
  2. Avoid using wire brushes, steel wool or heavy duty scourers as these will put scratches in the stainless steel surface that make it harder and harder to clean. The more you scrub, the more you will need to do scrub next time.
  3. The stainless steel grills on all of our models are removable so that you can put them in the dishwasher.
  4. You may find an industrial strength detergent works better. We have received good reports of the Stainless Steel Oven and Grill Cleaner from Enviro Chemicals. Follow the link to the product on their website and buy  it directly from them.
