The inspiration for Gaucho Grills came from Vietnam and France.
Founder Gavin Crossley (pictured below) was operating a BBQ manufacturing business in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam when a local French chef requested a custom designed grill styled after the Argentinean parrilla. We obliged him and that became the prototype of the wood-fire grills that were introduced to the Australian market towards the end of 2019. The factory in Vietnam went on to supply parilla style grills to the Pullman Hotel in Saigon, the Marriot Hotel in Hanoi, the Grand Mecure Hotel in Danang and many other commercial eateries throughout the country.
Gaucho BBQ Grills were first introduced to the Australian market on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, and the very first customer to buy one was the chef at the Sofitel Noosa. So from Vietnam to Noosa, it’s safe to say that Gaucho wood fire grills are the chef’s choice when it comes to grilling.
